Ms. Angeliki Pitsoli, Director of Gender Equality at the UNESCO Group of Piraeus and Islands, represented Mr. Ioannis Maronitis, President of UNESCO Piraeus and Islands, President of IAA and President of UNESCO centers, clubs and associations of Europe and North America, at the event for the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh's Independence Day and National Day.
The reception took place at the Divani Caravel Athens Hotel in the presence of representatives of politics, culture and academics. The government was represented by Mr. Giorgos Stamatis and Mrs. Angeliki Delikari. Among others, the Ambassador of Georgia Mr. Levan Beridze, the Ambassador of Moldova Popov Adrei, the Ambassador of Arzebayjan Mr. Arif Mammadov, the Head of International Relations and Member of Thermopylae-Salamis 2020 Mr. Kyriakos Maridakis, the President of the Student Association of Webster University Thant Kyl Phyuttum, the Director-Professor of Webster University in Athens Mrs. Peggy Manouka and Mrs. Anna Tsolakoglou from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The celebration was accompanied by an art exhibition on the student exodus of Bangladesh in the summer of 2024. It is a special pleasure that the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Greece for the first time is woman Mrs. Nahida Rahman Sumona, and her collaborators are also women. Mr. Ioannis Maronitis expressed the importance of cultural relations and his wishes to the Ambassador.
